Description

Tapestry is a Jungle Jack cultivar from Thailand distinguished by wine-red, heavily striated 3-inch flowers woven with yellow streaks and occasional white highlights. The broad, overlapping petals have rounded, slightly rolled-back edges and thick substance, giving the blooms good keeping quality. A strong nutmeg fragrance, attractive glossy dark-green foliage, and a semi-compact to medium tree with heavy wood add to its appeal. Jungle Jack notes that the cultivar took a long time to name because the blend of colors and textures resembles a woven tapestry.

History / StoryJungle Jack's source description: Remarkable striated, wine red 3" blooms with pronounced yellow streaks and a curled edge. Thick petals have amazing substance, and last a long time. Heavy wood on a semi-compact to medium growing tree with attractive and glossy foliage. Strong nutmeg scent. It took us a long time to come up with a fitting name for this flower, the blending of colors is so spectacular. This is truly an amazing weave of colors and textures.
