Trusted Contributor Program

Trusted Contributor Program

Help preserve reliable plumeria cultivar information.

Plumeria Database invites growers, nurseries, hybridizers, and collectors to become trusted reference contributors. With permission, we can use your cultivar photos, descriptions, specifications, history, AKA information, and related notes to improve public cultivar records while clearly recognizing your collection or plumeria program.

Who can participate

  • Nurseries with original or exclusive cultivars.
  • Hybridizers with named seedlings or introduction records.
  • Collectors with reliable cultivar documentation.
  • Experienced growers willing to share source-backed information.

What permission covers

  • Photos you own or have permission to share.
  • Cultivar descriptions and specifications.
  • AKA, parentage, origin, and history notes.
  • Website updates we may periodically review.

What we provide

  • A dedicated collection when enough records qualify.
  • A short introduction to you or your plumeria program.
  • Source links on qualifying cultivar records.
  • Recognition as a trusted reference source.

Clear credit, careful review

Trusted contributor material is reviewed before it is used to update public cultivar records. A record may still be marked needs review when details conflict, photos need confirmation, or more source information is required. Availability on a contributor website can change, so visitors should always check the source website for current availability.

How the program works

Permission is recorded. We document who granted permission, what source material may be used, the website URL, allowed uses, and any limits or special instructions.
Source material is archived for review.Photos, descriptions, specifications, AKA lists, and cultivar notes are organized so the review team can compare them against existing records.
Qualifying cultivars are matched or added.Existing cultivar records may be improved, while new records are created only when there is enough reliable information and appropriate photos.
Collections and links are added.Approved contributors can receive a dedicated collection page and source links so visitors can learn more from the original contributor.

Important identification note

Plumeria Database helps narrow possibilities by comparing photos, traits, history, and source records. It does not replace DNA confirmation, and a plumeria should not be positively identified from one trait or one photo alone.

Photo and publication permission

Shared photos must be owned by the contributor or used with permission. Permission should allow Plumeria Database to display, crop, resize, and use the photos for website and publication purposes with appropriate source credit.
