Plumeria cv ‘White Shell’

Since this flower does not usually open, what is seen is the alternating red and white stripes of the bottoms of successive petals. P. ‘White Shell’ is one of the few shell type plumeria flowers. This cultivar is distinguished from is cousin ‘Peachglow Shell’ by its candy cane appearance, opposed to the orangish glow of ‘Peachglow Shell’. During, warmer ambient temperatures ‘White Shell’ is known to fully open its flowers.

Top: White with the central half (bottom) yellow 9A. The right side is overlaid with grainy Red-Purple 60D. Since this flower does not usually open the top of the petal surface is seldom seen.
Bottom: A Red-Purple 60D stripe on the left, then white, then Yellow 9A on the right extending from the base nearly to the tip.
